11 Places to Find High-Resolution Photos for Bloggers

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Hello Reader(s),

As bloggers, we know that one of the toughest parts of the job is finding the perfect image to accompany a post. We are aware that images are one of the most important components for engagement, but unless you’re willing to pay significant costs for access to a database, trying to find free stock photos can be incredibly time-consuming.

Side Note About Licenses

License terms apply with free stock photos. The images are usually licensed under creative commons, which means that you can modify, copy, and distribute the work (even for commercial purposes) without having to ask for permission. You cannot sell them. There are some sites or particular images that might require you to add an attribution of some sort, so always be sure to check the permissions of the images you want to use.

I’ve done my best to list the general license terms beside each site below.

I’ve been using Allthefreestock.com and I get some pretty images from that site. It’s also very easy to use. It gives me what I need to acknowledge the owner of the pic. I just have to copy and paste. 🙂 Thanks for sharing all these other sites, though. I’m sure I’ll be checking them out at some time. I bookmarked your post. 🙂

I love Unsplash. It was the first site I started getting free images. I love pexels.com and pixabay.com too, they have so many images. And Gratisography has great unusual images, they are fun and different. Using these sites changed the way my site looked, so much more professional, And life got so much easier since I didn’t have to figure out how to take a photo that would work for the post I was writing. Great list!
